The sound system's components are in the closet on the far wall of the cafeteria. This is what it's components look like.
At the rear of the Mackie sound mixing board is the on/off switch (red arrow in the image below).
Turn that on. When you do, several lights on the front panel of the mixer board will turn on.
This is located in the equipment rack under the Mackie sound mixing board.
The power button is on the left-hand side (red arrow in the image below). Appologies for the crazy angle of this image.
The Samson amplifier is at the very bottom of the rack.
Press the middle button on the Samson amplifier (red arrow in the image below).
There are four microphones, numbered 34, 35, 36, and 37.
The microphones are stored on top of the small shelf unit along the wall.
Note the white projector remote and spare batteries to the right of the microphones. The projector mounted in the cafeteria ceiling isn't functional at this time.
In the image below, the volume for microphone number 37 has been adjusted (red arrow in the image below).
Bring the white microphone volume slider up to the broad white bar that's next to the Solo button (green arrow in the image below).
In the image below, the L-R button for microphone number 37 has been pushed down (red arrow in the image below).
The mixer board's main volume control is at the bottom right corner, of the mixer board's panel (MAIN MIX).
The white line is identified by the letter "U" (red arrow in the image below).
The two antennas are dipoles, and they function best when in a vertical position. Do not change their position.
The antenna on the left connects to microphones 34 and 35. The antenna on the right connects to microphones 36 and 37.
Fun fact: the antennas on a Wi-Fi router are also dipoles, so, pointing them straight up will improve the range of your Wi-Fi signal.
Okay, you are now all set. Turn on the power button on the microphone you will be using (red arrows in the image below).
Say something into the microphone, and listen for it on the cafeteria speakers. There are spare batteries on top of the shelf unit.
The power button that controls the lowering and raising of the cafeteria projector screen is on the wall (red arrow in the image below), just inside the PA system's closet, located above the light switch (green arrow in the image below).
