How to Use Pixlr to Resize Images Without Losing Quality

Instructions

Follow these instructions to make two more images from the original, boat.png.

You will use the online Pixlr.com program to modify the original boat.png file that's in your Ch 24 Pixlr Project folder.

1. You will save the boat.png file as two JPG images:

   • the first will be at 60% reduction, and 

   • the second at 100% (no reduction).  

2. Save these JPG images as boat60.jpg and boat100.jpg into your Ch 24 Pixlr Project folder.

3. Then open up the images in a image viewer to see if they are still are sharp as the original. boat.png.  

4. Finally, look at how large these file sizes are in File Explorer as compared to boat.png, and the boat10.jpg you did previously.
