Suggestion: Before you start, you might want to hold down the Windows key and press either the left or right arrow key. Did you see what that did? It puts this web page on one side, or the other, on your screen. Pretty neat isn't it? Then, as you proceed with these steps, you can put the Printer window and the Education Office Installation window on the other side of the screen. This makes following this long installation process a lot easier.
After having installed this print driver on several computers, we discovered that there is a second place where you need to specify that you want Secure Print instead of regular Print. Click on this link to get instructions on how to correct this.
Press the Windows key + R to open the Run box. To do this, hold down the Windows key (with one hand) and press the letter R (with your other hand). The Run window dialog box will appear at the bottom left of your screen
2. In the Run window, type control printers, and then left-click the OK button.
3. The Printers window will appear. Note that some of the printers you see should be removed (such as Education Office, Education Copier, etc.).
NOTE: When you proceed to step 6 below, do not close the Printer window. We will be going back to it at step 18.
4. To remove a printer, right-click on the printer icon to get the menu, and then left-click on Remove device.
5. Select Yes when it asks if you are sure you want to remove that device.
6. At the bottom of your screen, in the taskbar, left-click on the File Explorer icon. It's not there? Then right-click on the Start icon (lower left) and when the menu appears, left-click on File Explorer.
7. Left-click in the Address bar, and type \\t-305\E. Then hit the Enter key.
8.. A list of files will appear. Double left-click on Setup64.exe.
If you get the following User Account Control request, left-click on Yes.
9. The printer installation process begins. Left-click the checkbox next to "Agree the Software End User License Agreement." Very bad English.
Left-click on the Next button.
10. The installer searches for printers on our network.
11. When that finishes, a list of printers appears.
12. Uncheck all of the printers except for KONICA-MINOLTA bizhub 958.
13. Left-click on the Next button.
14. The printer installer takes a few seconds to finish up.
15. At this screen you will likely want to rename the printer. Left-click on Rename Printer.
16. In the Rename printer dialog, type in the name you want to give to the printer. Here I have typed in Education Office. When you are finished, left-click on the OK button.
NOTE: If you didn't remove the old Education Office printer that had the same name (steps 4 and 5 above), you will get an error message. Use a different name.
17. Finally, left-click the Finish button.
18. Going back to the Printers window, you will now see an icon for the new printer.
No Printers folder? Go back to steps 1 to 3 to reopen it.
19. Right-click on the printer icon, and in the menu that appears, left-click on Printer Properties.
20. In the printer properties window, left-click the Preferences button.
21. When the Printing Preferences window appears, left-click the Layout tab.
22. Left-click the Print Type menu. By default it is set to 2-sided printing. Most folks don't desire that option.
23. Left-click on 1-Sided.
24. Left-click the Apply button.
25. Left-click the Basic tab.
26. Left-click the Output Method menu. By default it is set for Print, which we do not want.
27. Left-click on Secure Print.
NOTE: The new printer does not have a Hold Print feature.
28. The Secure Print user settings dialog will appear. Here you will need to supply a Document ID and a password. To make things simpler, you may only want to enter a single digit for each, such as the first letter of your first name as a Document ID, and the first letter of your last name as the Password.
29. Left-click OK when you are finished.
30. Left-click on the Apply button.
31. Left-click the OK button.
32. The next few steps are optional, but in some cases they may be necessary. Otherwise, skip ahead to step 35.
At the printer properties screen, left-click the Configure tab.
33. Down near the bottom, left-click the Obtain Device Information button.
34. At the Confirmation dialog box, left-click on Yes.
35. When that is finished, left-click on the OK button.
36. This completes the installation. You will now see the new Education Office printer in your Printers folder.
