Home > Additional Resources > Education Office Installation Instructions > Printing Defaults Settings
The print driver for the new Education Office copier has two places where you need to specify that you want secure printing. The previous instructions modified the Printing Preferences, and these instruction modify the Printing Defaults. Both have to be modified.
Press the Windows key + R to open the Run box. To do this, hold down the Windows key (with one hand) and press the letter R (with your other hand). The Run window dialog box will appear at the bottom left of your screen
2. In the Run window, type control printers, and then left-click the OK button.
3. The Printers window will appear.
3. Right-click on the Education Office printer icon, and in the menu that appears, left-click on Printer Properties.
4. In the Printer Properties window, left-click the Advanced tab at the top.
5. When the Advance tab opens, left-click the Printing Defaults... button at the bottom.
6. Once you do that, the Printing Defaults window will appear (green arrow). You will note that this looks the same as the Printing Preferences window you set up previously. However, so for some strange reason, the settings of these two are not connected.
Left-click the Basic tab (red arrow).
7. Left-click the Output Method menu. By default it is set for Print, which we do not want.
8. Left-click on Secure Print.
NOTE: The new printer does not have a Hold Print feature.
9. Unlike before, the Secure Print User Settings dialog will not appear.
Optionally: If you want, you can click on the User Settings button to confirm your Document ID and Password. They will be what you had set up before.
10. Left-click on the Apply button.
11. Left-click the Layout tab .
12. Left-click the Print Type menu. By default it is set to 2-sided printing. Most folks don't desire that option.
13. Left-click on 1-Sided.
14. Left-click the Apply button.
15. Left-click the OK button.
16. This takes you back to the main Education Office Properties window. Left-click on OK, and you are finished.
