Instructions

Follow these steps to modify the boat.png image file:

You will use the online Pixlr.com program to modify the boat.png file that's in your Ch 24 Pixlr Project folder, reducing it to 10% of its original file size.  

1. Open the boat.png file in Pixlr.com

2. Click the blue Save button on the bottom.

3. When the Save window opens, move the Quality slider to 10% (or as close to that you can get).

4. Click on the blue Save As button.

5. Be sure you set the file extension to .jpg.

6. Save the boat.png file as boat10.jpg.  

7. Then open up the new boat10.jpg image in your image viewer (i.e.  Chrome, Windows Photo Viewer, Image Glass, etc.) to see if it is still are sharp as the original boat.png.  

8. You may also want to compare its file size to the file size of the original boat.png file.

9. Boats.png has a file size of 217KB, and boat10.jpg has a file size of only 5KB.
